can't log in to wp-admin for new blog using default wp data prefix

    I was able to set up a new blog as a subdomain:

    domain name: blog.example.org
    directory: /
    prefix: wp_

    I have used the default wordpress database prefix because I would like the new blog to have the same look as the original, but I am not able to log in to the wordpress admin for that blog if I set it up this way. eg, if I go to blog.example.org/wp_admin I am redirected to the admin for the main blog example.com. Any thoughts?

    You need to change the prefix to another one.

    Its actually bad practice to use wp_ as a database prefix anyway from a security point of view.

    Each hive site you have needs a different prefix.

    It makes no difference to the look of the site, all the prefix does is tell the database where to store the data
