Pointing Sub-domain to Main - is name causing problem?

I just installed Hive and have created two sub-domains and pointed them correctly to the main install with no problems.

On the third sub-domain, instead of showing the install page as it did with the other two, I end up back at teh original blog.

    I am using cpanel.

Now here's something that may be causing it. The original blog was set up with a user name that happens to exactly match the sub-domain I want to use.

    for example:

blog1.mysite.com - user name for the main domain and for cpanel is also blog1

sub-domains are pointing to the root. I really need the sub-domain to be "blog1", and I can't change the cpanel user name.

    1) is this what's causing my problem, or am I way off?

    2) if so, then if I move the WP install to a subdirectory will it help?

    3) other ideas?

Thanks - I really like Hive so far & look forward to your answer.

I think ifound the problem - the WP database is prefixed (automatically) with the same name I'm using for teh subdomain

    blog1_wrdp1
    blog1.mysite.com

    so......

Double check that the third sub domain is being pointed to a directory on the server, and not being re-directed to the primary domain.

It sounds like your webserver is issuing a 302 redirect instead of serving the files.

Regarding the database, you should have one set of tables for each site in the hive, each with a unique prefix. The prefixes are automatically generated during the install.
