This is too strange

You're going to think I'm nuts (I think I'm nuts), but this really happened and I'm trying to figure out how/why.

I have been using Zend Studio to edit stuff in my sites. Today I wanted to see if something existed in a particular wp-hive/domain folder. When I navigated to the folder in Studio, the domain folder was gone (from under the wp-hive node). So were all of the folders except the very first one I added. However, I was still able to view the domain's sitemap, so I knew it had to exist somewhere.

First I tried refreshing the view - with no effect. Then, I disconnected and reconnected thinking that might fix something. But, the folder was still missing from the nav tree.

I opened up Filezilla and ran into the same problem. But, since the sitemap was still reachable, I knew the folder had to be there. After messing around with authorities, and closing and re-opening both browsers again a few times, I finally got the domain folder (and others) to reappear.

So, how vcould that happen? I don't get it? Are these virtual folders or something similar?

(As I wrote this the folders "disappeared" from view again in both IDEs. What is going on?)

It does sound strange, but it would make sense to be a permissions issue. The folders are created by the system, which could have different rights than the one you log in with via FTP or Zend.. That would be my first area of investigation.
